Parikia, The capital of Paros, an ideal, modern venue any time of the day or night, with its shops, restaurants, tavernas and bars.

All around you, elements of the island's rich history will travel you back in time. In the oldest part of the town, discovering your way through narrow, labyrinth-like whitewashed streets you will find Kastro, the remains of a 13th century Venetian castle, built with materials from ancient greek temples. 

On Parikia's main square, one finds one of the oldest and best preserved neo-christian monuments in the world, The Panagia Ekatontapiliani, (church of the hundred doors). It was built in the Byzantine times in dedication to The Virgin Mary. 
Parikia also features a small, nonetheless interesting, archaeological museum housing some of the many finds from the island's sites.

The inland road to Lefkes and Marpissa will take you up the side of a mountain to the marble quarries at Marathi, source of the famous Parian marble. Masterpieces made from this marble include the Hermes of Praxiteles and the Venus de Milo.

In Lefkes, the Church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity), a beautiful Byzantine church made of fine white marble, sits on the top of the hill.
The “Byzantine Road”, a paved footpath dating from the Byzantine period, leads from Lefkes to the village of Prodromos and all the way down to the sea. Make this hike and let the mesmerising colours and aromas take you to times past.

The lovely village of Lefkes, situated in the central part of Paros is built on a verdant hill covered with olive and pine trees.

Naoussa is a beautiful village in the north of the island maintaning its authentic, traditional character and charm, with its whitewashed and flowered little houses and its tiny churches and chapels, surrounded by narrow, stone paved streets.
